There was a shipyard adjoining the complex that was officially closed in 1844. During its 140 years it produced over 200 warships. The Admiralty buildings are home to Central Naval Headquarters, the Sea Ministry, the Naval Museum, a Naval College and the Revolutionary Naval Committee.
